I joined “10 on 10” as a reminder to pay attention to my life and as encouragement to start carrying my camera with me again (something I used to do ALL the time). Nearly all of the other photographers have children, which in my opinion, lends itself to so many beautiful images of daily life- the small, sweet moments that I love capturing in my family sessions. My life, however, feels a bit lacking in those small moments. When I’m not on a shoot, I work in an office editing, or walk to work through Indianapolis’ often less than exciting streets, or make dinner with my husband in our little apartment. I guess that is the challenge that I’m accepting- to open my eyes and to see the beauty in MY life, as it is, right now.
For this month’s 10 on 10, I documented our 4th of July shrimp boil at JD’s parent’s house. It wasn’t the hot July 4 on the lake that we anticipated, but I’ll take a relaxing weekend with dear friends any day!
